Our client is seeking an exceptional House Manager / Personal Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of a private Manhattan residence. This dynamic role supports a professional family with a busy household, multiple pets (MUST LOVE DOGS), frequent entertaining (25+ guests or more!), and an in-home office. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in an environment where no two days are the same. This individual will take pride in creating an efficient, well-run home while providing exceptional service with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
COMPANY: Private Family
POSITION: House Manager / Personal Assistant
LOCATION: Manhattan, NY
HOURS: 9am-5pm with flexibility as needed, including occasional weekends and holidays
OFFICE REQUIREMENTS: 5 days in person
COMPENSATION: $125-200K Base DOE + Benefits Reimbursement
BACHELOR'S DEGREE REQUIRED: Required
Responsibilities of the House Manager / Personal Assistant:
Property Management
-Oversee all daily operations, ensuring that everything is well-maintained and organized.
-Manage housekeeper: Work closely with the housekeeper to manage cleaning schedules.
-If the housekeeper is on vacation, or very busy, you will happily help pitch in.
-Create and maintain household procedures and systems for efficiency.
-Oversee marketing.
-There will be times when you will be asked to drive for errands. You should have a driver's license and clean driving record.
-Ensure the maintenance and repair of appliances and equipment.
-Liaise with vendors for deliveries, maintenance, and repairs, while also handling minor repairs and easy assembly projects.
-Household bill payments.
Events
-Coordinate events from dinners (25+) to much larger annual events.
Purchasing and Inventory
-Personal shopping, manage returns, oversee inventory of household supplies.
Holiday Cards
-Update addresses for holiday cards, manage postage, and collaborate with printers and graphic designers.
Tech Support
-Maintain all tech equipment and phone devices, ensuring smooth operation and liaising with tech service vendors as needed.
Vehicle Maintenance
-Oversee the repair and maintenance of the family vehicle.
Travel Coordination
-Plan personal and occasional business travel, creating detailed itineraries for family members and employees.
Pet Care Management
-Ensure the health and well-being of the family dogs, managing vet appointments and care schedules.
Requirements of the House Manager / Personal Assistant:
-Proven experience as a House Manager or in a similar role, preferably in a high-net-worth environment with a minimum of seven years of experience.
-Bachelor's degree required.
-Strong leadership and team management skills.
-Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
-Experience in budgeting and expense tracking.
-Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
-Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
-Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
-Verifications of identity, education, prior employment, and references may be required.
