Our client, a hedge fund located in Westchester is seeking a HR Generalist to join their team to provide a broad spectrum of HR services related to the employee lifecycle including onboarding, immigration, offboarding, employee engagement activities, and benefits. During open enrollment each fall, benefits will be a large majority of this role. This generalist ensures that all benefit offerings, including medical, dental, vision plans, and wellness programs, align with the company's growth strategies, business objectives, and talent acquisition and retention goals.

 

Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Salary:$135k-$155k base DOE plus benefits and great benefits! 

Hours: 8:30am-5:30pm and 1 day a week WFH

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage all US benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision plans, LTD, STD, wellness, and voluntary benefits.
  • Present weekly new hire orientation to new hires to ensure they are welcome and informed on company policies, procedures and benefits.
  • Lead the annual open enrollment process, collaborating with the Head of HR, CFO and medical brokers on plan renewals and communicating changes to employees.
  • Work with the insurance broker on compliance for all benefits, and resolve employee benefit issues, including claims.
  • Oversee and manage leave of absence process.
  • Process FMLA, disability, and worker compensation claims.
  • Act as the main liaison with benefit consultants to ensure efficient administration of benefit plans.
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors, including brokers and service providers.
  • Conduct benefits surveys, research, analyze, and recommend new benefit programs to maintain competitiveness and manage costs.
  • Implement new benefit and wellness programs and provide effective communication and training to employees.
  • Evaluate and enhance existing wellness programs and recommend new initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to governmental regulations related to benefit programs and labor laws, including ERISA, FMLA, and HIPAA.
  • Work with the medical brokers to conduct required testing, audits, non-discrimination testing, and filing of 5500s.
  • Act as the benefits administrator in Work day to supporting the benefit plans, ensuring seamless administration, including enrolment and changes.
  • Review and approve all benefit-related bills, coordinating with Accounts Payable to ensure timely payments.
  • Continuously review and improve existing processes to maintain process excellence.
  • Develop and provide management information and analytics as appropriate.
  • Handle full cycle immigration process including visa renewals, applications and extensions.
  • Work with the global HR and legal teams on global relocations, transfers, and short-term assignments.
  • Handle offboarding processes including, exit discussions and offboarding procedures related to voluntary and involuntary departures.
  • Build culture through employee engagement activities, philanthropy, diversity, and networking initiatives.
  • Participate in HR audits, EEO reporting, roll out required trainings, make legal postings, and additional HR compliance related activities.
  • Complete employment verifications, process worker’s compensation claims and unemployment claims.
  • Review policies regularly and recommend updates based on changes to state and federal laws.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 7-10 years of HR experience, with previous financial services experience preferred.
  • University degree in Human Resources or another related field.
  • Demonstrate the ability to undertake and manage multiple projects to a consistently high standard while maintaining a resilient attitude.
  • Knowledge of regional employment laws and HR-related regulatory and compliance procedures.
  • Deep desire to connect with employees and build relationships, trusted advocate.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team in fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Experience working with a global company preferred.
  • Effective project management abilities.
