The firm is looking to bring on Pre-MBA Associates on their growth team. The Associate role is an investor apprenticeship, with primary responsibilities in deal execution, origination and portfolio company support. Deal teams are lean, with Associates expected to assume integral roles alongside senior investment professionals through all phases of the investment lifecycle.

Our client, a leading growth equity firm with offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Boston, is looking to add an Associate to their team in Boston. The Boston office focuses on investments in North America and Europe, with an emphasis on cross-border opportunities with China.
The Associate will be a critical member of the investment team, responsible for supporting all aspects of deal identification and execution, as well as conducting high-impact market and industry research that will help shape the fund’s investment strategy in the U.S. This is an opportunity to join the core deal team in a high-growth investment firm, where the candidate will be expected to display strong leadership both in shaping the company's strategy and delivering results.
Responsibilities will include:
-Support all aspects of due diligence and deal execution, including market research, financial projections, valuation opinions, and strategic assessment
-Communicate research findings and recommendations to senior members of the deal team and the investment committee
-Collaborate with US and China teams to define and conduct high-impact industry research projects, relying on both primary and secondary sources, in order to help shape investment strategy and identify attractive investment targets
-Work closely with portfolio management teams on an ongoing basis to provide strategic and IR support
-May require up to 25% travel time, including ~6 trips to China per year
Our client is offering a a 2–3 year education in venture capital, based in London. As an Associate Partner there, you should expect to travel across Europe, and will be exposed to a huge range of technology markets and startups. You will become an integral part of their investment team. What happens after that will be down to you: maybe you’ll join one of their portfolio companies, work on your own startup or, if you discover you love investing, continue as a venture capitalist.
Your primary role will be to help find and evaluate startups for investment by our client. Each month they intersect with a huge number of businesses, many of which approach them, and the first challenge is to figure out which they should spend time considering. It’s essential to prioritize, filter and assess quickly and thoroughly.
They don’t wait for the pitches to roll in, however. More important is the outbound work, thematic research, and building relationships with the most ambitious founders across Europe before they’re necessarily planning a fundraise. They're a small team with a lot of ground to cover, and they don’t often miss something great but they all take it personally if we do.
